if you are thinking of buying this album, do yourself a favor and get the 2cd set. if you are a fan, you probably have all these songs anyway. but there is NO WAY that the single disc version covers it all. neil finn is one of the very best song writers on the planet, starting with split enz. this version doesn't even have 'world where you live' or 'into temptation', which were actually released as singles. it's worth getting the deluxe edition just for 'recurring dream', which for some odd reason was not included on their original best of which was titled 'recurring dream'. it was on the 'tequila sunrise' soundtrack and the song is amazing. and the deluxe version includes 'now we're getting somewhere', which was the first video of theirs i ever saw (and i knew i loved them instantly) and was not included in the first best of.

The Very Very Best of Crowded House
Where are you guys? If you can write music like this in the past, it just cannot be dried up now! Do you realize how much pleasure and inspiration you have given to so many fans and current musicians as I would imagine like Coldplay and Snow Patrol. I am constantly confounded by the genius of musicians like you who just stop the entire gig and leave us bereft of your talent; the Finns especially! Don't wish to complain, however I miss your ongoing visceral poems and music.
