Album Review
Vicious Delicious is the eighth studio album by recognized Israeli trance duo Infected Mushroom issued in 2007. It found the band expanding their patented trance sound with a variety of elements borrowed from different musical styles, like rock guitar riffs, overlapping vocal samples, ethnic instruments, and electronic breakbeats.

Infected mushroom's best album
This is by far my favorite album right now. I highly recommend these songs to everyone!!
The Name Says It All
This album is...well...viciously delicious. Definitely candy for the ears, with a certain edge to it; the same edge that makes all of Infected's music as amazing as it is. While many of Infected's longtime fans would see this as a big step away from their roots, I would tend to see it differently. Yes, it is a different move for them, but really, if you look at each of their albums, every one is different in some way. I've been a fan since the days of IM the Supervisor, so maybe I don't have the same perspective as those who have been with Infected since Converting Vegetarians or earlier, but I think this album was a good move for them. Experimentation with new elements while sticking to their characteristic sound...to me, that's true musicianship.
Becoming Insane: The first real manifestation of rock elements into Infected's music. Works like a charm...definitely fits the music perfectly. Characteristically psychedelic lyrics, slick acoustics, great trance elements and beats...a keeper!
Artillery: As with many people, I HATE rap. If other people like it, fine, but I don't. However, this song somehow tickles my fancy. There's something about it that grabs my attention that I'm yet to figure out. Maybe it's the epic guitar riffs going on in the background, maybe it's the trademark Infected sound, or maybe it's just a good track. I don't see it at all as mainstream or scorn Infected for experimenting with that style of music. In fact, I congratulate them for doing so, and pulling it off so well! Definitely go for this track.
Vicious Delicious: VERY psychedelic. Purely Infected...this definitely serves as a showcase for their ever-evolving trance style, more than any other track on the album. The climax sounds a lot like a couple hundred cats shoved in a blender, but I'll tolerate it for the epic buildup leading up to it, which, for me, is *cough* kind of orgasmic.
Heavyweight: The one epic track traditional to each of Infected's albums (The Missed Symphony, Dancing With Kadafi, Avratz, etc). Has the best (and most) mixture of rock and trance of any song on the album, with chugging guitar riffs and IM-characteristic synths coming together in harmony. Truly an 8 minute 41 second epic, with the weirdest ending to any song I've ever heard.
Suliman: Quite possibly my favorite song on the album. It's hard to describe...it's just...groovy! You can't resist at LEAST tapping your foot while listening to this song. It just gets you, in a way that only Infected tracks can. And the climax with the mesmerizing electric guitar solo behind it never fails to put me in a trance. Thumbs up.
Forgive Me: Kinda hip-hoppy and groovy. I like it! The singing is processed in such a way to make it interesting to listen to. Good for people who are suckers for songs with good singing and lyrics. It sounds Infected, but less than a lot of the songs on the album, but that doesn't mean it's not good. Still definitely worth having!
Special Place: My least favorite on the album. It just doesn't grab me. But it is kind of fun to try to keep up with the beat in the section where it gets progressively faster. Listen to it and you'll know what I mean.
In Front of Me: Not really like anything Infected has done before. Almost purely melancholy/grungy rock. To devoted Infected fans, this one'll probably be disorienting, but it is a very good track.
Eat it Raw: See Vicious Delicious (minus the stuff about the headache climax and orgasmic buildup).
Change the Formality: This track kind of makes me scratch my head. I'm not really sure WHAT to think of it, honestly.
Before: Good stuff! Very Infected sounding. Sounds very much like the stuff you would find off of IM the Supervisor.
Love this album, came across the guys by chance and have dug the from the get go
My wife thinks I am crazy but I really dig this band. Very gifted.
I love the vast array of unique sounds that warp into an unforgettable rhythm...
Spontaneous complex visuals are threaded into the sounds that sculpt these unique rhythms.
Also very good body sensations from the tremors the powerful percussion beats give as a reward for the close proximity of your being.
