Customer Reviews
Fantastic!
Louis Vierne is one of the masters of the French organ. Michael Murray does an amazing job interpreting and bringing Vierne's masterpieces to life. From the opening chords to the thematic presentation of the Finalé of the Symphony No. 1 this work is captivating, stirring and well worth it!
Great performance, horrible recording
Performance is excellent. The actual recording though is lacking in treble, almost to the point that if you didn't already know this piece, you'd have no idea what was going on in the upper range. I can't tell if this is a technical issue with the recording, the acoustics of the church, the acoustics of the organ, or a combination of all three. This is even more pronounced when played through a fine stereo system in the house with good bass reproduction.
