A Really Great Score
I've listened to and collected great soundtracks since the 50s and consider myself to be a connoisseur of the genre. In fact, when I go to a movie, I usually notice the music as much or more than the story or the action in the film itself. But here is a surprise. I loved this movie, but I barely even noticed the music. Yet the soundtrack is amazingly touching and poignant. I think that is a great tribute to Jan Kaczmarek, who skillfully uses his creativity to make the music such an integral part of the film that you FEEL it rather than hear it. As I listened to each track, I was astounded at how a particular scene would pop into my head. The music is beautiful enough to stand on its own, but the genius is in the way that it bonds the viewer to the film.
Different & Unique
Kaczmarek blows me away every time. Each score is slightly (or greatly!) different from the last, and feels so well-thought-out and precise, but is still ultimately beautiful. He hasn't had a weak score yet. This one has a different sound: pared-down instead of the usual lush orchestrations, but there's still something about it that gets under your skin.
Oh Wow.
Until now, I've never actually found a soundtrack that could perfectly sum up not only the film's emotion, but my own. Perfectly unparalleled music. By all means, download this one!
