Vividly Versatile

Coldplay has become my favorite band, and it took them about an hour to do it. When Viva la Viva aired, I loved it. When I downloaded their other albums, I loved it. When I listened to their songs, I was hooked. They have talent while playing, while keeping fans, and while getting new ones. Coldplay, All The Way!

Long Live Life

This very well may be the most amazing album I've ever listened to. There isn't an album in my collection that's closer to my heart than this one. The music alone is brilliant but coupled with the flowing theme of the album, it's a flat out inspiring masterpiece. Let me also say that Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends is truly much deeper than one would assume. It keeps a very simple yet beautiful theme: life and everything in it all the way up to death. The whole thing is a cry to all listeners to live every second of your life to the very fullest, lest you let it become another cycle. With that in mind, listening to this album is truly an inspiring and uplifting experience. Every song brings something freshs and new to the table with a wide spectrum of shifting emotions like the lively and fun Lovers in Japan to the cold and chilling Violet Hill to the reflective and nostalgic Strawberry Swing, plus a few hidden tracks that add to the beauty and wonder that is Viva la Vida.

I really cannot say enough about this album. In just the two years since its release it's made me happy, hauted me, comforted me, and helped push me through life. I can proudly say that Death and All His Friends/The Escapist is the only song that's ever truly made me shed a tear. A million kudos to Coldplay for producing such a masterpiece. Buy this. The Whole album, not just the song Viva la Vida. Believe me, you won't regret it.

Lovers in japan

That song is so awesome and never gets old

Biography

Formed: 1998 in London, England

Genre: Alternative

Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s

After surfacing in 2000 with the breakthrough single "Yellow," Coldplay quickly became one of the biggest bands of the new millennium, honing a mix of introspective Brit-pop and anthemic rock that landed the British quartet a near-permanent residence on record charts worldwide. The group's emergence was perfectly timed; Radiohead had just released the overly cerebral Kid A, while Oasis had ditched two founding members and embraced psychedelic experimentation on Standing on the Shoulder of Giants....
