For Delerium Fans only
I love Delerium, have every album and single, but this is not an album for the casual Delerium listener. If you are intrigued by the line up of stellar vocalists, check out the original versions first. The lush soundscape that make Delerium so unique are missing on this album and could turn-off any casual listeners. However if you are a fan of lo-fi, acoustic sound by all means give this a spin (or click if you will).
A nice album.
A nice, mellow remix of some Delerium favorites. Not necessarily a "fresh take" on these songs, but a pleasure to listen to, nonetheless. Good background music for studying.
The evolution continues...
I have been an avid Delerium listener since their breakthrough album "Semantic Spaces" back in '94 and, I am content with this album. However, for those of you more familiar with their 'trance' remixes you might be disappointed with Voice's end result.
There are 3 brand new tracks on this album, with "Vienna" being the most oustanding. Without the elements that make these newer tracks as well as the classic ones true Delerium, the album one the whole seems to be lacking in production value.
Don't get me wrong, I'll be listening to these tracks over and over. Just more so on a cold wintry night whilst relaxing instead of getting pumped to go out.
