Fantastic new jazz
This album by the Australian jazz fusion band Void has some amazing playing on it from all four members. These guys have serious talent. They definitely deserve at least a separate page from the unfortunately similarly titled punk band of the same name; this stuff is real music played by superb musicians. I saw them live in NYC and they blew everyone away. The Homecoming Song is an achievement in both playing and composition. Travel Bug grooves hard, and London and The 80s Cop Show are great tunes. Hopefully we'll be seeing a lot more from these guys in the future, tons of potential.
hahaha!!
this is lame this is not the real void, not the hardcore punk band this should be put under its own catagory this VOID suks
Some Of The Coolest Stuff I've Ever Heard
Wow, these guys are tight! Just like the other guy said, they do have a lot of potential, and each of them sounds like a virtuoso of their instrument. My favorite one on the CD is "J-Lag." The time switches are so unexpected, but really cool, too. Take a listen to the melody the sax plays four times at the beginning and end of the song. It's amazing!! Other good ones are: Conzuela, The 80's Cop Show, and Travel Bug. Also listen for the overall comping of the organ/synth on this record. It's a great counterpart to Troy Roberts's playing. Overall, very good, and definitely worth the buy.
