Customer Reviews

A good remix album? Noway.

But it's true. Rarely do remix albums exceed anyone's expectations (i.e. Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park [OK, bad examples]). And with Collide especially, the songs are so beautiful and haunting, bettering them would seem impossible. But instead of making the songs better, kaRIN and Statik simply approach each individual melody from a different perspective. The result is a haunting, beautiful CD filled with music that would be worthy of an entirely new album. Strip the songs, write new lyrics to the music, and I'd buy it. It's that good. Such bonus new songs as Feed Me To The Lions and The Lunatics Have Taken Over The Asylum liven up the album with something you HAVEN'T heard, and make the album worthwhile from an additional perspective (If beautiful remixes aren't enough). Besides, Amish Rake Fight? Fun-NY.

A Dark Euphoria

It's good. Great, actually. True, there is a certain repetitive nature to the Album ( what with the various versions of the same songs over and over ), the greater value is the way that some of the songs sound. And that sound is something mellow, slightly dark, and overtly sensual. The lead vocals, without any verbiage to elude to sexual natures, strike me as somehow erotic, and the backdrop music is sometimes sad, sometimes sound happy, and on rarity a little angry, but always come across in a wave of exotic, alluring beats. I recommend, if not the entire Album, then "Feed me to the lions", "Predator ( Final Mix by Collide )" and "Halo (Sensory Gate Mix )" above all.

Awesome album

This is probably my favorite of Collide's albums. Each of the remixed songs are almost like completely new ones. Even the three versions of "Crushed" sound distinct enough to be different songs.
