Album Review
Laura Nyro effectively recreates her emotional, piano-based sound on her first new studio album in nine years. By now, the political stands are a part of her persona, expressed as directly as her emotional ones, and this is a well-rounded portrait of a mature artist.
Customer Reviews
One of those special voices!
It's too bad Laura Nyro passed away over a decade ago...she was such a genius!! This was, in my opinion, her last true moment of mastership with music before her unfortunate death in 1997. Her voice is as clear as a bell and she is finally at that level of maturity that most artists can only hope to achieve on this album. Surly a gem for any piano-loving person!!!
So Sad she didn't live a long life
Laura Nyro for those who have never heard the name is the only female singer songwriter who comes close to Joni Mitchell and Annie Lennox. Such a talented human. Gone for at least 10 years. Check her out she was a genius.
Have always loved her...
I loved her when I was younger and no one knew who she was even though she wrote the songs for popular groups. I saw her when she was older and probably sick. To me, she had the most beautiful voice and the most beautiful soul. So very sad she didn't live long.
