iTunes Review
Though it’s not an official soundtrack to the film, Walk the Line surfaced shortly following the 2005 biopic. Part of a two-disc series that highlights Johnny Cash’s tenure on Sun Recordings, Vol. 1 boasts an impressive 28 songs that include just a handful of early hits — a welcome refresher when you consider that most Johnny Cash compilations focus on the familiar chart toppers that the casual fan has heard over and over again. This series is an excellent way to get familiar with the cream of Cash’s early album tracks. Opening with the title track seems almost mandatory, as does following it up with the similarly twangy “Folsom Prison Blues,” but things get a little more intriguing when you hear Cash give his outlaw touch to Charlie Phillips and Odis Echols’ “Sugartime” (which the McGuire Sisters had a hit with in 1957). Fans of the aforementioned biopic will be pleased to find “Home of the Blues” here. Detailing the unhappy childhood of Cash, it was co-written with Douglas L. McAlphin and Glenn Douglas Tubb, which may be why Cash’s trademark twang sounds interestingly tampered with.

This is NOT the movie soundtrack
I am glad to hear everyone saying nice things about the movie soundtrack, but this is NOT the movie soundtrack. These are actual Johnny Cash versions. The songs in the movie and on the soundtrack were sung by the actors. Don't get me wrong, the actors did a fine job in their own right, and I also reccomend checking out the soundtrack. Just wanted to let folks kow that THIS IS NOT THE MOVIE SOUNDTRACK.
The One You Want
There are three words that are going to stick with me until the day I die, Cash Is King. All three words tell the absolute truth from beginning to end. I don't understand why anyone would want to dislike Johnny Cash. He is in fact, the legend. Buy both of these volumes and find out. "You will not be disappointed" is an understatement.
All around great
I considered Walk The Line the best movie of 2005. The acting in it was superb and the singing was unbeatable. The movie captures some of the greatest songs Cash ever put out. Johnny Cash is one of the best singers ever to walk the earth and he put out the best country i have heard
