What it means
Why is it that some things are so beautiful that they hurt? Try listening to "The Fleece," or "My House," and having your heart not swell up to catch in your throat. The album is fun and broad-ranging before it is anything else, but when it is that else--wise, whiskey-colored, necessary-- a slide catches in the chest; the soul fairly yearns.
Amazing
The only thing better than hearing this CD is seeing Jake live. Not only is the guy a virtuoso with an amazing voice, but he's hilarious. I've listened to everything he's ever done, and this album is the best (and the rest are amazing, so there you go).
Amazing
This album is an amazing piece of work. Jake actually came to my school to perform a few of his songs. I was blown away by the combination of guitar, violin, and vocals. This album is truly a must have.
