A nice slice of 50's Disneyana, especially if you remember the serials
The first track on this album is also the first song release in the remarkable career of Annette Funicello. “How Will I Know My Love?” was first sung on a episode of her Annette serial, the Disney Studio received requests from fans wanting a record, and the disc sold 100,000 right out of the gate (its companion tune, “Don’t Jump to Conclusions,” is also on this album). In fact, the original title of this album, on the Official Mickey Mouse Club label, was Songs from Annette and Other Walt Disney Serials. Like most Mickey Mouse Club LP’s, this one is a patchwork of songs made at different recording sessions, clearly with various arrangers and musicians involved, from the authentic country-western selections from Corky and White Shadow to the haunting bass guitar and organ accompanying “Boys of the Western Sea.” For something completely different, there is a string section inWilliam Lava's two theme instrumentals, "What I Want to Be" and "Spin and Marty" which is actually from "The Further" and "The New" adventures versions of in the latter title. Also from Spin and Marty comes a Christmas song, which never appeared on any other Disney albums, called "The Hap-Hap-Hap-Happy Snowman." While Disney veterans like Buddy Ebsen, Jimmie Dodd, Gloria Wood, Thurl Ravenscroft and Dal McKennon add their talents to these songs, from a “tween” aspect, this album could also be seen as a precursor to today’s Disney Channel stars, forever multi-tasking in various TV-movies, sitcoms and records. But instead of the High School Musical kids, Raven or Miley Cyrus, it’s Annette Funicello, Darlene Gillespie, David Stollery and Tim Considine. In a way, this is a keen audio capsule of Walt Disney’s eye for talent and his ingenuity in promotion—so ingenious in fact, it still is effective today.

I never thought I'd come across that song again in my life! I stumbed across this just now ... I had the LP when I was a child and now I can play it for my newborn. What a great find!
A Great Memory
I have this as a record and I felt like a kid on Christmas morning when I saw it here on itunes. Loved this show as a kid and all the songs on this album. Still watch the Mickey Mouse Club on my 50's TV and every time feel like a kid again. Wish life was as innocent as these early life experiences were. A treasure to be sure.
