Interesting. That's what this album is. It's a bunch of covers by some really interesting bands. That's all I can really say. "Call Me" is a great, more modern rock-ish twist on the classic Blondie song, and Franz Ferdinand does a hell of a job with it. "Victoria" is another sort of uplifting song on this album that is guaranteed to get stuck in your head for a while. I also enjoyed hearing the old-fashioned, raspy voice of Duffy on "Live and Let Die". What exactly is the point of this album ? I have no idea. There is no description of it on iTunes. But it's a really worthwhile listen, and you might just get hooked on some of these bands.
Great eclectic covers of phenomenal originals
All the profits for this project go to War Child, a fantastic organization that helps children affected by war. (The LA band Warpaint also does a great cover of Bowie's Ashes To Ashes whose proceeds also go to this, and it's an amazing cover also). These are all the great post-punk songs I grew up with. I have never had the aversion to well-done covers others have, I tend to like remixes and covers, and this is a hell of a purchase. And, you're giving money to a cause better than any other purchase you will do on Itunes I bet.
