Customer Reviews
Better than I expected
Obviously, Williams is a genius and the world of cinema would be at a huge loss without his extraordinary talent. However, I'm not usually as drawn to his work as other composers like James Newton Howard, Thomas Newman, and a few lesser known composers like Kerry Muzzy and Josh Kramer but I quite like this latest score of his. Regarding the Oscars, I think there are some other contenders that I would rather see win, but all in all, this is a solid score.
A Return to form!
This is arguably the best score of 2011! Multiple themes, gorgeous orchestrations, and a stellar final track that brings together the best of the best.
Williams, The Maestro.
Gorgeous soundtrack. One of Williams' most lyrical beautiful efforts. His colaboration with Spielberg is the greatest music/director one in movies (better than Herrmann/Hitchcock, Jarré/Lean, etc.) Once I saw the first trailer I was really touched witt the blend of scope and sweeping melody. The whole album is a masterpiece. After seeing his work on Tintin, with the sophisticated layers of sound (not so well represented on the album), you have to bow your head to the legend. Two fantastic, quite different scores in one year is nothing less than outstanding. Bravo Maestro!
