Album Review
Far's second album, Water & Solutions, finds the Sacramento-based alternative metal band coming into their own, creating a distinctive fusion of the sober, grinding guitars of Helmet and Tool. Occasionally, vocalist Jonah Sonz Matranga oversings, and the band often concentrates on sonics at the expense of songs, but the best moments of Water & Solutions show that Far have carved out their own alterna-metal niche. It may not be as distinctive as the Deftones, but it has its own appeal.

Excellent band, a cut above the rest
Far doesn't neatly fit into a basic rock category - which, in my opinion, is a good thing. Jonah Matranga's voice is subtle and strong, and the instrumentation is melodic and forceful - with the perfect amount of crunch and sneer. I recommend both albums highly!
Sacramento sound at it's finest..
One of the greatest bands to come out of Sacramento, Ever!!! The Instrumentation and Musical ability of these particular artists have been way underated.
Underappreciated Album!
This album is amazing from start to finish. It is too bad they didn't get more press and recognition for this album. No Far isn't nu-metal and they should have never been slammed with those groups. The best tracks are "Bury White," "Mother Mary," and "Wear it so Well." Check them out!
