Teka: Watercolours of Brazil
I first heard Teka live at a beach/art festival in Santa Barbara. I was captivated by her music then and continue to be just as impressed with her latest release. Her sound epitomizes the delight and relaxation of one's favorite beachside vacation spot. This brand of Brazilian jazz is the ideal fusion of warm and cool. She continues to make songs that are joyful and introspective, sophisticated and timeless. The quintessesntial soundtrack to cocktails at sunset; Teka is the thinking person's party music.
Watercolours of Brazil
I recently heard Teka, live in a small club in Ventura, California. This woman is a remarkable musician. Her authenticity and musicianship, her gorgeous voice, her incredible guitar groove, her repertoire and her musicians were a superb musical experience. I was particularly impressed by her Venezuelan pianist Otmaro Ruiz. Watercolours of Brazil is a must have CD for any music lover.
