Amazing Album
Being a huge fan of Pneuma I have eagerly been awaiting this new album, and I am not disappointed. Waves really captures the ambient rock sound that defines Moving Mountains while moving them forward in their musical career. Is this a move to more widely accepted style of music? Not necessarily, while the songs aren't ten minutes long like Foreword, they still retain their ambient sound in a shorter delivery.
Upon first listen I was a little skeptical as to the progression of their sound but after a few more listens it is like I cannot help but to put this album on repeat.
This album is a perfect example of the talents of Moving Mountains and it clearly shows they have plenty of material and drive to lay out more albums.

To me this album sounds like the love child of Switchfoot, Thrice and Caspian while still being completely orginal and refreshing. After listening to this album I feel like there is hope in modern rock music and this band will be leading the way.

Who am I listening to again?? Moving mountains?!?! wow...I know the single they released hinted at a change in style but I did not expect the change to be this drastic. There is almost virtually no resemblance to their previous work. Will i miss their original sound? yes, alot...but that doesn’t mean I don’t like Waves either.
I’m in love with this album...for totally different reasons then the reasons I loved Foreword and Pneuma. “Waves” is almost like a statement to the music industry, “hey, look. we know how to make media-friendly music while staying completely original...get owned.” I hope this band gets the recognition it deserves, and with “Waves,” I think they will.
