Fuzzy

It seems that the predominant sound in these three songs is a fuzzy, static sound that honestly makes the songs sound a bit sloppy. I'm definitely a hardcore glitch-mob fan; I really enjoyed Drink the Sea and all of the individual artist's music as well. I could imagine these songs sounding very good and exciting on a 50,000 watt speaker system at one of the glitch mob's shows, but they really just don't quite satisfy me through my headphones and they lack the hypnotic melodies and pulsing drums that were so evident on Drink the Sea. If I had to pick a favorite it would be Warrior's Concerto, but even that is lacking in a few ways. Its good music, don't get me wrong, but its not Glitch Mob.

We Can Make the World Stop!

Such a great list of songs! The album artwork is priceless!

Worth the buy

To me this is more of an EP than an album - I wish they would've put something more complete together, but this is pretty cool...

We Can Make The World Stop - great song! Very strong, would be a BLAST to hear live. Not as experimental as the other songs, having a lot of the same elements and techniques as other popular songs; what they're known for.

Warrior Concerto - upfront: I hate the horn intro. It's ear-splittingly annoying...but the build up BEHIND it is really neat. The rest of the song is really good too, especially the interesting strings interlaced with the beats, and subsequent horns don't sound so abrasive.

Palaces of the Innocent - pretty good, low key but still has a strong, interesting thump. On an album it would be considered more or less "filler" leading up to a stronger song like We Can Make The World Stop, especially live.

I've been playing these over and over on my home stereo, which is a pretty strong system, and I haven't heard it with headphones yet...so it may feel a little different then...especially when I begin playing them alongside other Glitch Mob classics. Overall a good buy and I like the direction they're going - hopefully we'll see something more complete and polished sometime in the next year!

Formed in 2006, L.A's Glitch Mob have wowed them on dancefloors around the world with a singular brand of bleepy electronica and heavy hip-hop-influenced basslines. After discovering that they were loosely affiliated with each other after performing at similar venues every night, the bandmembers began their musical partnership by DJing back to back as a "tag team." Consisting of four members (edIT, Boreta, Kraddy, and Ooah) armed with laptops and MIDI controllers, the Mob were associated with the...
