Raspin : We Do What We Do
This is an eclectic album... but it's a healthy eclecticism, bringing to mind great albums of the past that propelled listeners on substantive musical journeys. Raspin is a powerfully passionate singer who has mastered many vocal styles , from the soulful Louie Armstrong/Tom Waits gruffness of the opening track, 'Rumbling And Tumbling," through the resonant and clear folk tones of "The Bitter End." He's a strong melodist whose songs, whether upbeat or ballads, always possess an appealing tunefulness, especially in this rhythm predominant age, "Somewhere In Time," for example, is an absolutely gorgeous melody, as is the haunting "Hold On."
If you are up for adventure, get aboard; this kind of journey is good for the soul..
Rumblin' & Tumblin, Smoke the Hookah & More!!
This is a great album!! I Rumbled and Tumbled onto the dance floor whilst Smokin' the Hookah until The Bitter End !! This album was fulll of Fun, Dance & Inspiration with a Blues twist. Raspins songwriting is awesome, and his songs should be used in a film it is so "Ketchy". This is a must have for the New Year 2010!
Raspin - WE DO WHAT WE DO
I love this CD, but I especially adore DREAM. Raspin's voice is so identifiable and rich. This guy has style. I love the songs, they have spiritial and social undertones, and they reach a broad audience. Even my 18 year old blasts the Hookah song! It's great music, thought provoking, and entertaining. I recently saw Raspin in a live show last week OH MY GOD what an intense performer. This guy has soul and sings from his heart. Even with just his acoustic guitar Raspin is amazing and totally commands the stage. I can't wait to hear his next CD.
