iTunes Review

Based in Portland, Oregon, Braille is known mostly for his work with LIGHTheaded, though he's also dropped several quality solo albums. Weapon Aid is his sixth official record, and is even more intensely personal and autobiographical than his earlier material, with many of the tracks focused exclusively on his family life and struggles to overcome various personal challenges. Produced mostly by Big Jess (of Unknown Prophets), it sports 10 solid tracks overflowing with themes of struggle, anger, self-improvement, and redemption, with the main figures being Braille himself, his wife, daughter, and Jesus. Despite the heavy, heart-on-his-sleeve lyricism, it comes off neither depressing nor over-the-top, just an extremely raw and honest piece of music that "keeps it real" a lot more than most. Standout selections: "Give Myself," "Resurrect Me," and "Nothing Left to Say."

Love this album

Braille continue to grows as an artist and more importantly as a Christian. This album shows his continued growth. I love all his stuff and Weapon Aid will not disappoint real hip heads who are not afraid of artists who push the artform above and beyond its limits. Can't wait for teh next one! Keep it coming bro!

Going to give it a listen on the strength of "Revenge"

Just picked up "Resurrect Me" & "Revenge" to throw in rotation.

Great heartfelt album!

Braille has dropped an authentic heartfelt gem with Weapon Aid. At first listen a few tracks stuck out drastically against the backdrop of this album; those tracks were Give Myself, Thinking Shoes (formerly Shoeless Joe) and Resurrect Me.

"As the album progressed I thought “this is pretty nice!” and then I heard it. Track 4 “Shoeless Joe” followed by “Resurrect Me”. Wow! Shoeless Joe hit me right between the eyes with a reality check. I had been looking so hard at the opportunities some of the people I admire have had that I hadn’t even considered the obstacles and issues they have faced.

A moment later the piano track from Resurrect Me came into play…hardness broken, heart opened. Wow Braille…this is the track." via cghearn.com
