Wrock at it's roots...
If you've clicked on these reviews, you've probably heard about "Wizard Wrock" - the silly genre of music dedicated to the world created by J K Rowling in her Harry Potter series. The Whomping Willows (Matt) is a band that is Wizard Wrock at it's roots. Earthy, simple, soulful rock and roll. Folk with a little funk, The Whomping Willows pick up on the Harry Potter themes but leave the "cannon" of the books to explore the world from the point of view of this extremely bipolar willow tree. One moment violent and anti-social, the next lonely and pleading you'll either fall for Whompy or discover you've split your soul to the point you have no heart. Quirky, funny, ironic and at times just goofy, The Whoming Willows will appeal to the thinking reader and casual fan alike! The House of Awesome is their second album, a little less emo than the first and certainly more irreverent! I've been a fan for over a year, and I think this band has done a better job with the wrock lyrics than any other you'll find on iTunes. If you love DIY music, you've read a few Harry Potter books, and you appreciate "overwhelming talent" you'll love this album!

OMG the Whomping Willow is awesome!!!! The lyrics are hilarious and anyone who loves Harry Potter will love this cd! I saw The Whomping Willows at a concert and he was so amazing!! I LOVE THE WHOMPING WILLOWS! No matter what he says, he is a TOTAL wizard rock heart throb!
