One of the biggest success stories in the vast landscape of independent hip-hop, Tech N9ne has established an impressive empire and cultivated a hugely devoted fanbase, despite the dual obstacles of being from Kansas City and having no major-label backing. Welcome to Strangeland is his 13th release since 1999 (and the fourth in his ongoing Collabo series). It finds him linking with fellow Strange Music artists and frequent collaborators like Krizz Kaliko, Kutt Calhoun, Jay Rock, Mayday!, Brotha Lynch Hung, and Prozak, among others. Produced mostly by Seven, Jomeezius the Genius, and Plex Luthor, the tracks here are dominated by heavy, bugged-out beats and swift rhymes that are alternately funny, depraved, absurdly over the top, and surprisingly serious. Rocking his signature sound that owes no allegiance to either coast or to the South, Tech N9ne comes through with another batch of bangers. Standouts include "Unfair," "Won't You Come Dirty," "The Noose," and the spacy "Retrogression."

Welcome To Strangeland picks up just where N9ne left off
Tech N9ne is finally getting the exposure and the appreication he deserves. I've been a Technician since I heard him bless my speakers with his original albums. The way he delivers his verses is rivaled by none, and nothing is new here with this work. Great features from Strange Music as well!
Listen to The Noose. Such a deep song about the soldiers overseas fighting for our country!
Overall this album gets 5 out of 5 stars from me. It's right up there with the classic Tech N9ne albums that we know and love.
