Album Review
Perhaps the international success of Bat Out of Hell II came as a surprise, but it was no shock that the follow-up, Welcome to the Neighborhood, was not, either commerically and artistically. While it nearly duplicates the sound and style of Meat Loaf's previous hit album, Neighborhood was recorded without the guidance of Jim Steinman, who was responsible for the sound of both Bat Out of Hell albums. The music has all of the elements that made the previous records hits — there are layers of guitars, orchestras, voices — but without Steinman, it's just not the same.

One of the Most Complete (and Drastically Under-Rated) Albums Ever.
This album is every bit as epic as any of the "Bat" albums. This is a classic rock bred with gothic metal broadway style musical. It is the kind of album that you really have to sit down and listen to start to finish in order to truly appreciate its complexity and emotional journey. Meat Loaf's voice I believe has never been stronger than it is on this album. Sadly this album has been greatly overlooked by many Meat fans... if this album only had "Bat" somewhere in the title, it would have been every bit as successful as the other 3.
This is a great album!!!!
Two of these songs are on the 2 disc greatest hits album, but there are two or three more songs on this CD that could have also been on the greatest hits disc. My favorite songs are Running for the Red Light (it is a great rock song), Where Angels Sing, I'd Lie For You, and Not a Dry Eye in the House. The last two songs are on the greatest hits CD.
Very Good Overall Album
This album has it's good moments and not surprisingly very few bad ones. The only bad song on here would have to be original sin... I don't really like that one but overall it's a great masterpiece. I recomned I'd lie for you (and that's the truth), Left In The Dark, and Not a Dry Eye In the House, Where Angels Sing, and Martha.
