On the up-rise

The lost trailers are definitly on the rise to the mainstream market with this WONDERFULLY done mix of country/rock in "Welcome To The Woods''. Its a mix between the black crowes and the doobie brothers with a 'wang twang' rock twist. I can honestly say its one of those albums that everyone with the likes of any genre will aprecciate. I recommend it.

Near Perfect Album

This album will forever be one of my favorite albums of all time. Every song has incredible structure, writing, and meaning behind them. Stokes raw country vocals and incredible apt for storytelling comes through in every song, Ryder's vocals and keyboard contributions are really unique, and the backbone of drums, bass, and rhythm guitar by Potter, Andrew, and Manny really complete the sound. Longfall: 5/5 A great opener that sets the mood for the album. Lyrics written and sun by Stokes, the song is about his anxiety about moving to the West Coast, but upon ariving, coming to realize that "there's fine folks out on the west coast." An overall great tune. Down in the Valley: 4/5 Outside writer. Sung by Stokes. Really enjoyable summer anthem. Atlanta: 4/5 Written and sung by Stokes. Beautifully composed song about coming back to Atlanta for the summer. Mary: 4/5 Written and sung by Stokes. A catchy tune about making it the industry, it seems. Walking Blind: 5/5 Written and sung by Ryder. Easily one of the most memorable songs on the album. Beautiful horns and a great guitar solo by Stokes. "There's a quiet and a rest, it ain't that bad but far from the best, and my dream keeps getting pulled away from me." Incredible song. Averly Jane: 4/5 Written and sung by Stokes. One of their oldest songs, really great live vibe. Great female back up singer. The Battery: 5/5 Written and sung by Stokes. Incredibley catchy chorus. Great back up female singer. Love and War: 4/5 Written and sung by Stokes. Great story about the effects of the Iraq war on a small town family. Bad Habit: 3/5 Written and sung by Stokes. A good song, but the weakest on the album. Woth a listen nonthless. Overcrowded Town: 4/5 Written by Stokes, sung by Ryder. Great piano. Very enjoyable sound. Yellow Rose: 5/5 Written and sung by Stokes/Ryder. Such a beautiful sound. Wonderful story West End: 5/5 Written and sung by Stokes. All about the Nashville music scene, and the memories they hold dear. Sitting on Top Of The World: 5/5 Written by Stokes, sung by Ryder. Great piano, bass. Unique song structure. Fire on the Pontchartrain: 6/5 Written and sung by Stokes. Incredble closing song. Storyline about a man coming to realize that his significant other is cheating, and chosing the murderous route, blowing her and her lover up on his boat on Lake Pontchartrain. My favorite song on the album. If you are just getting into the Lost Trailers now that they have changed their sound completely to radio friendly, empty old country music, do yourself a favor and pick this album up too, and discover the REAL Lost Trailers. Hopefully they will come back to their roots sometime in the near future.

Nostalgia and Nashville

The CD is incredible, especially compared to the newer stuff. Best track here has got to be West End. If you ever spent an extended period of your life in 37212, then you'll be right back at Rotier's and Logan's. Incredible.

Biography

Formed: July 4, 2000 in Nashville, TN

Genre: Country

Years Active: '00s, '10s

The framework for country band the Lost Trailers has been around ever since guitarist and songwriter Stokes Nielson and a high school friend of his from Atlanta, keyboardist/vocalist Ryder Lee, released the independent CD The Story of the New Age Cowboy. It worked out so well that Nielson took the songs to the Nashville bar circuit, playing with Lee, a drummer, and a bassist as Stokes Nielson & the Lost Trailers, a name that was spawned from the fact that their tour trailer had been stolen twice...
