Customer Reviews

The album I've been waiting for...

Poach has been grinding on the underground for a minute now and, clearly, his hard work can be heard in all of the tracks on this album. Poach's flow is super-tight and he takes the time to change up his delivery from track to track, so he always keeps things interesting. Lyrically, Poach takes on a wide range of topics from emceeing to everyday struggles to relationships to fatherhood. Trust, there is something for everyone on this album. From front to back, the beats bang! Great melodies over headnodding beats. If you love hip hop, you'll love this album and even if you don't, the lyricism and the complexity of these songs will have you hooked. I've only had the chance for one listen all the way through, but already my favorites are "Swaggerwagger", "You One", "Liberation" and "Buttershyfly". GET THIS ALBUM. you won't be disappointed.

Mr. Stevens from the Rondo Brothers Camp

I'm a Rondo Brothers fan and I was waiting for Poach Stevens to come out with his own project, and here it is! I really liked this record, I feel like the whole shabang was focused. I don't know how Bay it is, but it is tight hip hop. Dude totally personifies that working class hustle, doesn't stray, just stays true to that. I like that honesty, there ain't one time when you listen to the record where you like "okay this is too over the top" or "this dude is lying" and that's tight to me. On another note he got his serious side, his dummy side, his romantic side and his braggadocio side and it all comes together to a real solid album. Tracks I recommend are werk, swaggerwagger, liberation, same song, buttershyfly, just a guest, you one, brains in my canoli, not your path and get along. Also check his stuff with the Rondo Brothers, since he's apart of that camp, I wouldn't be surprised if Dan the Automator started working Mr. Stevens. 4 out of 5.
