Bring the summer!
Michigan is a state with cold winters and hot summers and The Boys of Summer are a reason why this summer will definitely be hot. The new record What It’s All About will not leave you disappointed. This is the first record in which both JP and Scab rock the vocals and I’m for sure feeling it. The catchy lyrics and melodies will get you singing along while you are busy playing the air drums along with Kyle’s beats. There is a range of songs on What It’s All About to keep you going the whole way through and at the end leave you satisfied. This is one pop record you need to own to enjoy all summer and beyond!
Best kept secret in music
Seriously. You know those albums that you just keep listening to in the summer that make you all happy and stuff? This is it. 85 Insignificant Heartbeats, Things in Twos, A Long Road Home, and My Best Interest are the standouts for me. Everything else is fantastic though. There's enough variety on this album to replay it over and over and not get tired of any songs, some days certain songs just work better than others. There should be more albums like this. Do it. Buy it. Listen to it. Smile.
Breath of Fresh Air
I was a huge fan of That Was Something's Bears record. Kind of lost touch with the band for their past record. But this totally caught me off guard. Its so good! The record as a whole takes you on this journey. One minute your rocking out to the pop punk anthem Thing's In Twos, the next minute your in a dark Jimmy Eat World esque song like This Is It. The vocals of JP and Scab trading off always keeps it fresh. I'd almost like to hear more of it. The DRUMS are out of this world! They definitely take these songs to the next level I can't wait, to see this band live! I really think these guys are something to look out for the rest of this year as well as 2011.
