Brilliant New Vision!
Excellent re-working of their first hit single, "Wheel Of Fortune 2009" is a definite new perspective that keeps a newly-reformed triad Ace of Base's trademark synthpop in perspective, while adding in a more electronic, modern lifeline. With a new album due out next year, this serves as a very welcome introduction to what the sound of Ace Of Base 2.0 will become. Cheers to excellent Swedepop!
Their best effort yet.
Yes, believe it or not, Ace of Base are still together and they've still got it. It's easy for me to say this is great -- I've been a fan for 16 years now -- but really, this is great. Here, Ace of Base quite literally show a return to form with a newly rerecorded version of their very first single. You won't get the standard reggae-pop fare that American fans have grown used to, however. This is a dark, electro-driven dance track that could easily be the comeback AoB have been attempting for over ten years now. A heavy chainsaw bassline, distorted vocals, and a catchy yeah-yeah-yeah intro make WoF2009 Ace of Base's strongest single since "The Sign." Fans old and new surely won't be disappointed. I invite every fan of dance, pop, or electronic music to give this one a taste. A new greatest hits package will arrive in November, and a brand new album early next year. It feels like I've been saying it forever, but this time, I think I'll actually be right: Ace of Base are back!
Excellent electro remake
A brilliant effort at both breathing life into the band and making a 17 year old song relevant in today's dance music scene. This electro remix is a true return to their roots. They couldn't have done any better.
