Album Review
On their 2006 debut When All That's Left Is You, Minneapolis quintet Quietdrive mix up elements from the last three decades of alt rock. There's more than a hint of '80s new wave and college rock, most prominently on a cover of Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time," but also in their cavernous drums, old-school synths, and pulsating guitar rhythms, plus the occasional sugary singalong chorus. But their basic style is grounded in '90s alt rock, in its surging guitar rock explorations of angst, anthemic choruses, and flourishes of blink-182-styled punk-pop. At its heart, When All That's Left Is You is a thoroughly modern rock record — pretty and processed, neurotic and narcissistic, clean, crisp, and professional — so it plays smoothly.

Great CD
I bought this CD anxiously in Minneapolis this last summer, as soon as it came out. After a few times through the album I started liking it even more and more. All the tracks have an incredible rock sound, while having clever and personal lyrics. I can listen to this CD no matter what mood I'm in, because I feel the lyrics are really relatable. However, I wouldn't really say that the band is emo. Its not hard to tell that Quietdrive is going to get really big in the coming years, as their music is incredibly good. This is a great band that I would recommend to anyone that loves rocking out to songs that still contain some substance in their lyrics. Check it out!
Excellent Major Label LP Debut
I have been waiting for this cd for over a year and, even though it's only 10 tracks long, it was definitely worth it. The updated versions of the old Sneaker 2 Bombs stuff sound crisper, and Butch Walker's mix of Get Up is a nice take. The production on all of these songs makes every one sound like they could be a radio hit, which is awesome because they're better than anything I've heard circulating in play right now. Although sometimes I wish there were a little less synth/echoy noises, and a little more of Quietdrive's natural sound, this cd really asserts Quietdrive's place as a band that will be big. This cd is a perfect for blasting on hot summer drives. I highly recommend all of the tracks.
Still Young, but have a huge career ahead of them
An excellent way underrated major label debut, but there is always room for improvement, especially since the dreaded sophomore slump is coming up. 1. Rise from the Ashes- Vocals can get off, and gets a little intense, but very catchy with good emotions 9/10 2. Get Up- Catchy, but the least bit weird and doesn't rock very much. Strong track overall 8.5/10 3. Take a Drink- Just good. Good tune and rocks hard. 9/10 4. Let Me Go In- Good guitars, and not hard to listen to at all 8.5/10 5. Rush Together- Didn't like it that much at first, but come on, acoustic turned rock, too awesome 9/10 6. Maybe Misery- Catchy, great tune, rocks. Any questions? 10/10 7. I lie awake- Vey deep and a good track, but on awake, he uses a long vowel for the first "a" 8. The season- one of my favorites and I'm surprised that it is not more popular 9.5/10 9. Time after Time- (picture me shaking my head) Excellent. Great. Has pounding guitars, deep emotions (even though they didn't write it) 10/10 10. Both Ways- the lyrics saved this song, the sound didn't draw me in, but the lyrics DID 8/10 So, the boys who are driving quietly score a ten out of ten, but some advice, write your own hit songs
