The Kids Are Waiting
These guys have as much upside potential as any unsigned band in the middle of America. They have a strong vibe at most live shows and the lead singer has the pipes and looks to lead this bunch somewhere big. But, but, but, it is all potential at this point. The songs here scream LOCAL BAND and don’t give the guys a chance to break out. They have everything they need to step into the All-American Rejects/Panic At the Disco/Fall Out Boy world and compete. It won’t happen doing Hillbilly, retro power chord doo-wop, (Southside Stomp??? WTF) with local yokel lyrics. The only sample cut that sounds remotely modern is ‘Anything,’ but that one does give a hint at what Stereo Deluxe could be, and they could be HUGE. If this band had a song like ‘Dirty Little Secret’ or Spill Canvas’ ‘All Over You’ or Lifehouse’s ‘Spin’, they would have gone national already. Stereo Deluxe, GET SOME SONG HELP. You’ll be very glad you did.
A Great Album
This is a truly great album. Tracks 2, 3, 6 and 11 will grab you immediately and ALL of the others will grow on you until you're walking around singing them to yourself without even realizing what you're doing. These songs are catchy and the entire band always seems to be evolving together. As soon as someone puts these guys on TV they're going to start soaking up fans like ShamWow. This is a definite must have.
