Album Review

Travis Cottrell has been a writer, arranger, producer, and praise & worship leader for some 14 years now for Beth Moore's ministry, but he also takes time to write and record his own solo projects, of which the beautifully titled When the Stars Burn Down is the latest. There are no surprises here, just Cottrell doing his calling, mixing contemplative material with rousing and joyful anthems, all in a positive praise & worship mode. Highlights include “I’m Changed” and “We Will Dance,” among others.

Customer Reviews

When the Stars Burn Down...is when I'll stop listening to this CD.

This album is quickly climbing up my Top 25 Most Played. Travis' music is incredibly uplifting and Biblically sound. All the Poor and Powerless, Refine Me, and Faithful God are just a few of my favorites. I find myself singing these songs everywhere I go. You can't help but love Jesus more when you listen to Travis Cottrell and his amazing songwriting. Buy it. You won't regret it.

From Travis' VJ

I get the awesome privilege of traveling with Travis as his VJ (visual jockey). I've been with him for a few albums now, & this by far is one of his great collections of worship songs ever.

My favorites are "All the Poor & Powerless" & "Thanks Be to Our God"...also "The Word of God Has Spoken" & "Lord We Come". They are all SO GOOD.

He curates & writes songs that are rich, Jesus-centered poems that are rooted in God's Word ...all which invoke word-pictures and imagery that fill the imagination full of wonder, astonishment, beauty & mystery!

One of the best worship albums I own.

As a worship leader, I often struggle to find new music that is both meaningful and something a multi-generational congregation loves to sing. Thanks Be To Our God may be one of the most powerful songs I have ever heard, and Just As I Am adds a powerful chorus to a classic hymn. Travis' arrangements of some familiar songs also seem more "congregational". All in all, I am so happy I stumbled upon this, as it has been a true blessing to me and to those I worship with each week.
