With more than 200 million albums sold worldwide, Mariah Carey is one of the most popular performers of all time. She’s had an amazing 18 #1 hits in her career to date, a Billboard charts record for a solo artist as of early 2009, and this collection contains nine of those, including a few of her better duets. Carey has released other best-of collections before, but this one is unique in that it focuses on one specific aspect of her long career, which may be exactly what some fans are looking for. Separating out the ballads like this highlights Carey’s considerable range — and that’s not a reference to her legendary ability to cleanly reach five octaves. By not including any of her bouncy R&B hits, up-tempo dance floor grooves, or hip hop-inflected numbers, her ability to deliver a chills-inducing ballad really comes across, and these songs are an ideal showcase for her stunning vocal control. All of these songs have been released before, with the exception of “Hero,” which was re-recorded especially for this collection.

by ninemtycompilations AGAIN??...come'on...is that all she know to do??...she has an excellent voice, but she needs to take a break and makes NEW SONGS becouse this Album is the same she is doing lately (the same songs), 3 albums in a row (# 1, remixes, greatest hits, ballads), and please...do not more covers like "Open Arms, Against All Odds, "Didn't Mean To Turn You On","Last Night A DJ Saved My Life","Bringin' On The Heartbreak"...i heard she is gonna record "i want to know what love is" Foreniger's song for the next album, i hope this won't happend
