Album Review

16 Frames' 2009 debut album, Where It Ends, features a pleasant and melodic handful of yearning, radio-ready alt-rock. Centered around the impassioned vocals and songwriting of frontman Steve Sulikowski, 16 Frames make the kind of tastefully produced melodic guitar rock that has been the core of the adult alternative rock sound from U2 through the Goo Goo Dolls, Coldplay, and the Fray. Which is to say that all of the tracks on Where It Ends will fit nicely next to such bands on modern rock radio or as background music for television dramas, as some of these cuts already have on MTV's The Hills and ABC's Men in Trees. And that isn't a bad thing, as Sulikowski has a knack for a heartfelt lyric matched to a melody line that sticks in your head. While not the most innovative rock music you'll ever hear, Where It Ends is enjoyable, professional mainstream rock.

OMG! an album of great songs!! Rare!!

I saw this band in Dayton over a summer and freaked. Every song is soooo good. "Where it Ends", "Back Again", "Lets Not Pretend" are all amazing along with "Coming Home". They were fantastic live and the album is insane. Some of the best songs in years. They will break. Everyone I turn it on to loves it. So good to hear such great songs.

Wow... An amazing album

I am amazed that these guys could produce an album this good and this deep the first time out of the gate. Their music is instantly familiar but also fresh. Its been a long time since I purchased a whole album. I usually buy a lot of Alt singles because usually there are only a few good songs on any album. This one rocks beginning to end. Well worth the 8 bux.

About time!

There is NOT a single song on this album that I don't like. Every song is familiar yet offers a new meaning each time I listen to it. These guys are not only great musicians, but great songWRITERS. Not very many of those around these days.
