sweet new music
this album is amazing improv-based music with the exception of "Steady Ride" - can't say much for that one song. I particularly like how the group was formed and the openness as well as togetherness that went into all phases of the album. Great jobs guys & gals. Dates please!! favorite is "Samsara". Peace & Love
Much better than you'd think it would be
I'm not particularly a fan of the whole "jam band" genre. It strikes me as a lot of aimless noodling with poor vocals, imitation Grateful Dead at their worst. This, however, is a very pleasant exception. Good songs, good vocals, good playing come together with an album that's much more than the sum of its parts.
If I had to characterize it, I'd say it's sort of like a grown up alt.country record (remember alt.country?). Give it a listen or two and see what you think.
I'd definitely go see these guys if they come to my area.
