Incredible

This is such an emotional and touching show, if you ever get the chance to see it, dont pass is up. Its so musically brilliant and beautiful that you really will be leaving with a wide-eyed expression. The show came to Broadway a long time ago, but didnt do that well which really is sad, and this show never gets the credit it deserves.

Steinman and Weber's BEST

All I can say is FINALLY. This musical, truly not given the attention and applause it's due, is one of the most haunting and powerful shows ever put on, anywhere. Its music is striking and memorable, its storyline deep and pensive; it forces us to look at faith and reexamine the lives we live and why. The music emphasizes this and its performers evoke within us a sense of desperate yearning ("Tire Tracks and Broken Hearts"), bitter regret("A Kiss Is A Terrible Thing to Waste"), hope ("If Only") and conviction ("No Matter What"). This album is a must-buy; stellar cast performing a striking musical.

Beautiful

I just saw the national tour last night, and as I'm a HUGE ALW fan, I was prepared to be amazed. I liked the first act, but the second act was what really did it for me. It was so powerful and awe-inspiring. The only thing that puzzles me are the two songs, "Annie Christmas" and "Charlie Christmas", because when I saw the show, they played a song called "The Tribe" instead--I much prefered that song to the two Christmas songs. The problem I have with this particular album is that "A Kiss is a Terrible Thing to Waste" is album-only; if I could only buy one song, that would be the one to buy...so shouldn't it be individual? Anyway, overall: four stars, totally touching...it just doesn't get any better than this. :)
