iTunes Review
Jack and Meg White brought garage rock back to the masses when major label V2Records picked up their third album, White BloodCells, from tiny Sympathy for the Record Industry. Perhaps, indie production values and all, this was just too good even for the mainstream to ignore? Could be. Much has been made of the pair's simple guitar-drums lineup, red-white color scheme and willingness to foment gossip about whether they're brother and sister or a formerly married couple. But the real story here, more even than Jack's Page-damaged guitar heroics, is the songwriting. It would be worth talking about even if these were just excellent pastiches of blues and punk, but Jack White's talent extends far beyond that. These are the stories of an eccentric but grounded guy making what he can of love and life. Obviously, a lot of people could relate.

Fantastic, the soundtrack of my life
When I was 8 years old this album came out. I didnt listen to anything except for the beatles at the time because i didnt know of anything else. But one Christmas morning my sister decided to wrap this up for me. I'd never heard of the white stripes and the album cover both scared me a little and intrigued me. I remember the first time I put it into my disc player hearing the surprising shreik at the beginning of Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground. I'd never heard anything like it before, The Hotel Yorba came around and it was so upbeat and catchy, I fell in love with it immediately. Anyways, I listened to the whole thing several times in the car with my Mom so i grew to know ever lyric and every movement of every song. I remember I had a nightmare when I was 8 because I think I smell a rat just creeped me out haha, I didn't want my parents to be used for a welcome mat! But I didn't stop listening to it after I was 8, I just loved it so much. I watched Citizen Kane recently and found i knew all the songs they sing in that movie because they are all in the song U*nion Forever, it was a great experience saying "hey! i know that one!" When I entered the mellon collie times that were middle school (just 6th grade really) the more bluesy (only using that word cause i cant think of a better one) ones i started to like more such as I'm Finding it harder to be a gentlemen every day, Expecting, Same Boy Youve always known, and Offend In Every Way. Those songs worked their way into my life and i found them comforting. Things are a lot more happy now that i'm out but those songs still hold a special place in my heart. I just read in the itunes rules these have to be to the point so um sorry..haha i coulda gone on a lot longer but anyways, those are my reasons for giving this album 5 stars. I love it.
