An Undiscovered Gem
Vienna Circle is a UK based progressive band formed by the collaboration of brothers Paul and Jack Davis. White Clouds is their debut album. White Clouds is a concept album following the life of a British man who moves to Berlin shortly before the start of WWI. The album follows his life and longing to be reconnected with his love. This works quite well - either listening to the album from start to finish or simply listening to individual tracks. The music is outstanding with definite influences from the likes of Neal Morse and Pink Floyd. Overall, the mood is melancholy and the vocals have a rather vulnerable quality. Several of the songs start off with a mellow sound and tempo, but progress to more uptempo with prominent instrumental passages and soaring guitar work. Consider yourself lucky if you have stumbled across this album or had it recommended and buy it now.
I agree - - - An undiscovered Gem
Mix intelligent lyrics with a little David Gilmour sound and the bands own special magic and you get a really good album. Nice!
Are concept albums a thing of the past?
If so, apparently nobody informed these guys. In fact, it's the first time in years I've actually cried listening to an album. My suggestion is to listen to it from beginning to end, and keep a box of tissues handy. Great work! I'm looking forward to more in the future.
