iTunes Review

Returning to their rock roots after the ambitious (OK, pretentious) Tommy, this may be the most consistent album the Who ever released. Every song is a killer, and the album quickly became a staple at '70s FM radio as a result. The band was at full strength with drummer and resident lunatic Keith Moon pushing the rhythms, while Daltrey screams and preens, Townsend windmills those power chords, and bassist John Entwistle solidly holds down the bottom. "Won't Get Fooled Again," "Baba O' Riley," and "Behind Blue Eyes" are the songs that rock radio embraced the most, but there are other great tracks, including "Bargain," "Going Mobile," and "Love Ain't For Keeping," that make this a non-stop delight from start to finish. Listen to Who's Next and discover why the Who rivaled the Beatles, Stones and Led Zeppelin as one of the very best British rock bands.

Incredible...

by A Modern Memory

The first time I heard The Who's "Who's Next", I was literally (nearly) blown away. There aren't words to explain how incredible this album is. I think... okay, no. Just buy it. Then go buy The Who Sell Out to balance out all of the emotions this album conjures inside of you. ^.^

The Greatest Classic Rock Album Ever Released

by hd1072

"Who's Next" is simply the greatest album of the classic rock era, maybe of all time. Masterpiece is not an appropriate word to describe it, because it's so much more. Roger Daltrey hereby establishes himself as one of the greatest rock vocalists, and rock's best rhythm section (Keith Moon on drums and John Entwistle on bass) lives up to it's reputation. But the star of the show, as always, is Mr. Pete Townshend. It's not that his guitar playing or vocals stand out over the other band members, but he was the mastermind of all the of The Who's glorious creations, and this is his magnum opus. Let the opening piano concierto on "Baba O'Riley" take you places no other music can, and just try to appreciate that a man wrote that. From beginning to end, this is the greatest classic rock album ever put out.

Few bands in the history of rock & roll were riddled with as many contradictions as the Who. All four members had wildly different personalities, as their notoriously intense live performances demonstrated. The group was a whirlwind of activity, as the wild Keith Moon fell over his drum kit and Pete...
