hmmm...

this, to me, smacks of beck mixed with oh i dont know.....(insert mainstream band here). i do like the ott remix of konkrete

Meh

The OTT remix is good, the live M80 is too but I don't know about this. The remixes aren't that bad really, but I'm just not into the new direction the biscuits are taking, especially with songs like "You and I." Too much singing, that's why most people I know love Tractorbeam sets... gets rid of the two worst parts of the band, singing and pauses! It's not a bad thing to be on MTV, in fact if the biscuits could get a song reflective of why we love them on MTV it would be awesome because it would be the Biscuits getting recognition for being themselves. But a lot of these new songs aren't the Biscuits being themselves, or at least what the dozens of shows I've seen have made me believe is themselves, it's just garbage. The mainstream should change for the Biscuits, not the other way around!

2 BAD EPs back to back

I have to agree with the first review. Widgets is like a cheesy Beck/Radiohead hybrid... Fish Out of Water is a bad Beck/Everclear hybrid... ugh The rest of it is even worse. Awful techno bop (PUKE!!) This is the first studio music I've listened to of theirs (both EPs), but the rest of it can't be this bad I own like 10 or 12 live shows that are AWESOME and I've seen them live 3 times (even better). I LOVE THESE GUYS. They are my favorite band, but if this keeps up I'm gonna write them off. I hope this was just a bad experiment and/or they fire their producer. It would be a sad day if I thought this was the direction they were heading in longterm. I'm not trying to be mean because I'm on the internet. I would tell them how bad it was to their faces if I was lucky enough to meet them. I bet they already know. They ARE musical geniuses and all...

A jam band active since 1995, the Disco Biscuits play a distinct blend of rock, techno, jazz, soul, blues, and classical music that quickly took them to the upper echelon of the jam-roots-groove scene. Jon "The Barber" Gutwillig, Marc Brownstein, Sam Altman, and Aron Magner met on the University of Pennsylvania campus and formed the Disco Biscuits there in late 1995. They started out with frat party gigs all over Philly, but quickly moved to the nightclub scene. In 1996 they released their indie...
