Can I Say...WOW

Speechless...absolutely amazing album. Who is this kid? Gunna be huge!

Beautiful compliment to the LP

Recorded in the small seaside community of Sea Ranch, Wild Child is the chill, thoughtful complement to the more produced, energetic sound of The Good Fight. Both of these make up a double album release that represents Chase's latest efforts. His sound has come a long way since his last EP in 2009.

Wild Child starts out with the title track. The song opens with mellow wind instruments (flutes?) adding to the mystery of the track. The structure of the song is unusual, and keeps a quiet energy that lurks under the surface throughout. Austin Mello, Chase's long-time collaborator, contributes awesome bass lines.

Next is Soul, which has an incredibly catchy vocal hook ("shah") that occupies a silent moment in the rhythm between verses. I can't help but sing along. Hand percussion and acoustic guitar lines throughout give the song a playful, tribal quality. Fun!

Gloria follows, with a clean acoustic vibe and clever lyrics. The song is upbeat and fun, you can't help but move. The flute from Wild Child is back for the bridge and final chorus, and the song leaves you feeling satisfied like a lazy summer afternoon.

Jo brings a slower tempo and a catchy rhythm with tambourine and hand drums. A love song where the lyrics cleverly avoid being gender specific, it's a song that can speak for everyone. Vocal harmonies drive the simple one-word chorus.

Finally, Sun Tribe (also the name of Chase's new label) wraps up the five song EP. Scott Huerta (who contributes vocals and other stuff throughout this EP) adds awesome vocal harmonies to this song, and the song wraps up with a big group chorus.

All together, Wild Child is a fun, chill, thoughtful, beautiful album that perfectly complements the songs in The Good Fight. An amazing effort from a group of talented musicians that evokes 1960s folk, Dave Matthews, Jack Johnson, and their own sound that nobody else can claim.

So excited to keep hearing new music from Chase and friends. Buy these albums!

Good Vibes

I'm blown away by the musical craftsmanship of every song on Wild Child. You can tell the artists poured everything into this self-produced album. The vibes are good, the melodies sweet, and the essence pure. It's at the top of my list!
