Album Review

Wild Imagination, Scott Krippayne's 1995 Word Records release, is a combination of CCM, Christian pop, and adult contemporary. The project opens with the upbeat "Reason to Live," reminiscent of songs by Aaron Jeoffrey and John Elefante, followed by the album's radio singles, "Hope Has a Way," "All My Days," and "Sometimes He Calms the Storms." Lyrically, Krippayne co-wrote eight of the ten tracks. The songs touch on topics including reconciliation, comfort in trials, and misplaced priorities.

He's good, very good.

Real Imagination

This collection of songs really spoke to me at a time in my life when I needed it most. Krippayns's lyrics are reachable and real. The song Wild Imagination was my favorite on the album. Thanks for finally putting this on ITunes!

4 favourite tracks

I bought this CD second hand two years ago (when that was the only way it could be purchased) for one song with an amazing message--Sometimes He Calms the Storm. That song lives up to what I'd heard of it, and I still love it. With the passage of time there are two (and now becomming three) other songs on this early album that have come to mean a lot to me: "Hope Has a Way" has this infectious optimism that always leaves me feeling increasingly better as I listen to it. And I Will Love includes the aptly said line "for in loving them, I will love You." Recently, Someone to Die for has come to mean more to me--this song connects Christ's atonement with belief in one's self (and by extension others) today. These four are favourites of mine--and four tracks that are this good is quite something for an artist's first-released album.
