Changing Fort Wagner :p
I downloaded one song, "Charging Fort Wagner", from this because I heard it in Glory and this was the only place to get it. However, the song is absolutely nothing like the one in the movie. The one in the movie was epic and moving. In this album, it is repetative (literally the same thing over and over again, with a few times where it rises) and just plain dull. Get it right next time.
Really Good
This is a great album. I wouln't suggest obtaining the entire thing, but the essentials are The Cowboys, The Magnificent Seven, and Silverado. All 3 of these are magnificent. It is important to remember that classical music means more than mozart and beethoven. These are modern classics that entertain and move our generation.
City of Prague Orchestra album, not the original scores
This is an OK compilation but many of the pieces have been somewhat hacked up. I bought this album on CD several years ago but I also have the original sound tracks for many of the movies. The originals, such as Glory are much better. Those listed as the "artist" may have written the pieces but it is the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra playing them, a fact listed on several other compilation shown on this page, but not, that I can see, on this album.
