really good
i heard of mcgrath through a friend and really like the kind of music he has. this cd is really well done and i can only hope it will get more recognition as time goes on
One of the great songwriters of our time
Those are big words, but I truly believe that Colin will be recognized as one of the great songwriters of our generation. In Window Seat Colin shows that he has an easy and inherent understanding of the form of song harkening back to the tradition of the old tin pan alley writers. But that is just the vehicle that allows us to see how well Colin knows himself. His personality and life story are all over this album and we are lucky to be invited to the party. Full disclosure- Colin's been my best friend since 1978. I couldn't be more proud of the work that he has done here.
Amazing - endlessly listenable
This is one of the most satisfying albums I've owned in a long time - perhaps ever. Colin McGrath has put together an eclectic mix of songs that really defies genre or any other kind of categorization. One of the things I really like is that he doesn't do anything in just one style - he brings in elements from many times and places that are just simply beautiful, and he obviously takes a great deal of care with his music, a rare thing these days. My friends have also bought the album and always thank me for recommending it to them. My favorites are Anochece, Ruthy, and Talk to Me, but the whole album is wonderful. Do yourself a favor and have a listen - it will definitely surprise and satisfy.
