Curb

Curb

With 50 million albums sold worldwide, Nickelback have made it difficult to ever imagine them as an "indie" band, but such was the case with Curb. Self-released in 1996, the album was reissued in 2002 by the band's longtime label, Roadrunner. Lacking the studio sheen of their subsequent chart-toppers, Curb is grungy and raw, sounding as much like Pearl Jam or Alice in Chains as the band that would eventually go platinum with hits like "Photograph." The title track is the tragic true story of star-crossed lovers, while "Falls Back On" boasts nervy punk energy. You may not recognize this Nickelback.
