Do not take this song for face value.
Having read the reviews about this song, I felt my interpretation of the artist's work is quite different from the ones posted here and so I though I'd share.

My movement told me be a consumer and I consumed it
They told me to just do it, I listened to what that swoosh said

If you take a look at these lyrics you can see quite clearly that the song isn't about celebrating our desire to collect overpriced sneakers, but rather criticizing it. "Look at the what the swoosh did See it consumed my thoughts" : We have been brainwashed into thinking our clothing defines our value and to have $400 sneakers (that aren't even worn!) gives ourselves and our lives meaning. But when in fact it's nothing more than "another pair of shoes"

This is without a doubt one of the best rap songs ever written. I wish I could give it 6 stars.
