This collection containing 40 of Sir Paul McCartney’s tunes (solo and with Wings) is divided into two discs, the first boasting 18 chart-topping hits and the second comprising 22 historical album tracks. Wingspan covers recordings from McCartney’s 1970 eponymous debut album to 1984’s soundtrack for Give My Regards To Broad Street. “Listen to What The Man Said” sets a melodic tone while simultaneously serving as a reminder that many of McCartney’s songs are playful tunes of whimsy. But that’s fine when you consider that these recordings have aged amazingly well, especially the infectiously catchy “Band On the Run,” which sounds like three songs rolled into one. “Jet” is another standout as it blends the punch of ‘70s power-pop with McCartney’s talent for somehow making soft rock sound cool. Unfortunately his duets with Stevie Wonder (“Ebony And Ivory”) and Michael Jackson (“Say Say Say”) are absent, and you have to wonder why the epic “Maybe I’m Amazed” was never released as a single. Overall Wingspan is the best compiled Paul McCartney overview to date.

I love this compliation of Paul McCartney and Wings greatest hits. It's amazing. What's strange is this album was on itunes then it wasn't, and now it is. The colors on the album cover look different to. Either way this is some spectacular music.
Gotta Love Paul!
Paul McCartney has always been my favorite Beatle. His voice is so sweet, and his songs have meaning. Unfortunately, I haven't had the money to purchase all the songs on this album, but my favorites that I have are "Silly Love Songs", "With a Little Luck", "No More Lonely Nights", "Band on the Run", "Maybe I'm Amazed", "Hi, Hi, Hi", "C Moon", "Let 'Em In", "Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey", "Goodnight Tonight", "Every Night", "Jet", "Another Day", "Listen to What the Man Said", "Live and Let Die", "My Love", "Let Me Roll It", "Junk", "Bluebird", "Man We was Lonely", "Helen Wheels", "Coming Up", and "Junior's Farm". Sorry for the long list. :P But Paul is a massively talented musician. I have his whole All the Best! album, which is a good compilation album as well. One song I kind of wish had been on this album was "This One" (a song from Flowers in the Dirt). Though not really one of his most well-known songs, I think it's one of his best. But anyway, this is a great album summing up Sir Paul's music career, and I totally recommend downloading it!
