Album Review
"Wipe Out" is probably the definitive surf rock instrumental. Comparable with such classics of the period such as Dick Dale's "Let's Go Trippin'," the Champs' " Tequila," and Bill Doggett's "Honkey Tonk," the track leads you right into the period and, as an added plus, defies you not to dance. The full-length album Wipe Out is almost as good. The revolutionary proto-metal guitar by Jim Fuller and pounding drums of Ron Wilson engulf every cut, especially the wild "Wiggle Woggle" and the cover of the aforementioned "Tequila." One of the ultimate surf party platters, this album — despite its trashy production — has stood the test of time.

Wipe Out CD
Hi, this is from Bob Berryhill, original guitarist of The Surfaris, co-writer, performing artist of Wipe Out and Surfer Joe, recorded in 1962, album released in 1963. You are correct; this album is not the one I recorded in 1963. I have made several attempts to get iTunes to change this bogus information--I did not post it and I don't know where they got these notes. The CD for sale here I recorded in 2005, as the stats say next to the image. This CD has rerecorded versions of Wipe Out and Surfer Joe (sung by my son Joel) plus 8 new surf instrumental originals written by me and bandmates Gene, Deven and Joel. Check out our website at thesurfaris.com for more info. ps. I had to post a rating to send this message.
This is NOT the original 1963 copy of Wipe Out
I have an original copy. These guys were really young when they first recorded this album. Yes, it's been treated but I believe this is a recording by some of the guys, but the singer is NOT the original. Sorry Itunes. If you can't keep the music original, you are better off not putting it on sale.
I love this album!!!
I highly recommend this album for people who love great music and a good time. Of course Wipe Out and Surfer Joe are timeless classics. The songs bring me right to the beach! I especially love the other songs too, Avalanche, Secret Cove and Magic Sands. Ther're all great!!!!
