Wow!
Wow! This is a testament to the amazing talent that exists for the future of jazz and big band! After clicking on the previews, I had to download this album and it doesn't disappoint (Thad Jones' "To You" . . . ahhhh)! Through a google search, this all-star group is from a community arts program in Miami. We need more like it!
Sensational Big Band Sound
The All-Star Jazz Ensemble plays some of the greatest Big Band hits of all times with confidence and aplomb. This CD has become my default listen-at-work music, keeping me bouncing in my seat for hours on end. A must-listen, you will thoroughly enjoy it.
Really impressive!
This is a really impressive debut CD for the CGCC Community All Star Jazz Band. The full range of music selections nicely showcases the skills of the young musicians. There's some great ensemble playing, as well as terrific solos. I would recommend this CD to anyone who enjoys good old-fashioned big band jazz, or as a gift for someone who is just being introduced to the wonderful sounds of jazz!
