Holy crap this album blows my mind!!!!! Just shut up and buy it, NOW! Best indie of the year!!
great album
I stumbled upon a youtube video of enation's song Flint and I became a fan once and forever. This new album features completely new songs with re-presentations of a few of their old ones. After listening to the first track World in Flight just once, you can tell their style is evolving. Jonathan Jackson's voice is stronger and steadier than before and the sound is more uplifting, as oppose to their former, often angsty-depressive tone. The new tracks are really great and as far as the indie scene goes these days, they're up there with the best. Something needs to be said about the lyrics. Instead of the meaningless croons about sex and unrequited love you hear in today's pop or the pain of political discontent, the lyrics here are more of a mature and thoughtful meditation on the emotions and the spirit of being human. Two thumbs up.
This is a new high
I've been a fan of Enation for quite awhile, but this is the album I'm putting in all my friend's Christmas stockings. The music I listen to becomes the sound track of my life and I've been looking for something that reflects this turbulent decade, and this new millennium. In the 90's we wanted to party like there's no tomorrow: Now it is tomorrow, and after eight years someone's finally put out music that is beautiful without the melancholy, hopeful without the cotton candy. This album shows an effort to widen your audience without compromising your message or your music. I think you’ve succeeded, and for having integrity on top of tallent and drive you've taken this album to a new high. I recommend this album to everyone.
