Review on Soundcollective.com

The Lost Satellites encompass a mature sounding indie rock styling which reflects a reminiscent sound of ’60s rock fused with ’90s grunge. Singer-songwriter, engineer and producer, Frank Scott has created a collective sound that’s whimsical, poetic and introspective much like Jim Morrison did with The Doors. Worlds Collide features guest musicians Peter Holsapple and Chris Stamey (The Db’s, Hootie and the Blowfish, Whiskeytown) and a group of musicians from the Mid-Atlantic area brought together and created an album that’s, a little off the beaten path, but is musically refreshing to the ears and satisfyingly original. Worlds Collide is like a mix-tape in the way in which it offer’s a variety of topics lyrically and a variety of aesthetic sounds from catchy, toe-tapping and upbeat to low tempo, melodic, acoustic and dark.

Big fan of this album!

Big fan of this album! Stream of consciousness lyrics prevail, such as gems in the song "Nightmares": 'Tore out the pages of my book today/Couldn't see myself in the same way/Everything gets stuck behind the glass/I've got to set them free so they will pass.' Life lessons also shine through their songs without being preachy, either: 'No need to get hung up in the race' ("Moments of Clarity"), 'You don't know what you've got 'til you've got more' ("Hole"), 'You shouldn't teach what you don't understand' ("Nightmares"). The concepts of space, sleep, dreams, and personal identity appear throughout the album. Even when the lyrics do not explicitly mention these subjects, you feel their presence, like faint, ever-lingering memories. Great for something new and still something familiar at the same time!

Great Music!

I have to say that the long anticipated album from the Richmond natives The Lost Satellites have captured my musical ear. The music is just captivating. Starting from "Worlds Collide" to "Moment of Clarity to Hold" and to "Everything Ends"....I have to say I can listen to this album all the way through. I recommend it for a long drive or just pop it in while around the house. It has good lyrics that anyone would be able to relate to. With good lyrics being hard to find these days. I think these guys have struck a chord......no pun intended! Give it a shot!
