Customer Reviews
It's not your Mama's Pink Floyd
When you see the title The Worlds Greatest Pink Floyd Tribute, you hope it will be. It's not the greatest but it certainly has a few highlights. A few of the songs on this collection stand out. Billy Sherwood & Alan White & Chris Squire's rendition of Comfortably Numb, Tommy Shaw & Tony Levin & Edgar Winter's take on Money, and Us and Them as versioned by Out of Phase. Each artist sticks as close to Pink Floyds original intent, but adds some interesting tidbits that are nice to listen to. All in all nobody can ever touch Pink Floyd, but it's nice to hear a different interpretation once and a while.
Comfortably Numb rocks
I don't really care for the album as a whole so I am basing my five star review on Billy Sherwood & Alan White & Chris Shire's version of Comfortably Numb. I loved the cover of this song. They really made the song their own. How's that for originality?
Not a Good Idea
Saying this is the best tribute album is like saying that is the nicest piece of dog crap you've ever steped in not that great because all in all they're just bricks in the wall. If you are that desprate then yes you might like this album. This isn't trying to sound like pink floyd which is good because if i wanted to listen to pink floyd i would not listen to these posers. I think the record company understands that and they decided to just do new forms of pink floyd song which is why i gave the album a 3 because they aren't trying to imitate pink floyd poorly or just not as well as pink floyd in the same fashion. please try to understand that they aren't trying to be pink floyd!
